As a mechanical engineer at 219 Design, you will work on a diverse set of projects with a variety of clients. You will help define the problem, gather knowledge, and then develop a concept that you continue to test and validate with end users until you have the best solution possible. Your job is to solve problems, your main goal is functionality. We need engineers who are adaptable, display leadership and management qualities, and are passionate about their work.   • Research, design, develop, build, and test mechanical devices, including housings and mechanisms, as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Quickly design, build, and iterate prototypes, using rapid prototyping technologies such as FDM and SLA 3D printing.
  • Perform DFM/DFA, specifying materials, tolerances, finishes, etc. for manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, and injection molding
  • Assist with transition to manufacturing
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.



  • BS degree in mechanical engineering or similar
  • 5+ years experience in mechanical engineering, covering the responsibilities listed above.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks design and manufacturing drawings
  • Good listening and communication skills with the ability to be respectful and persuasive at the same time.
  • Collaborative, but have autonomy and self-management skills.
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.


Bonus Points

  • Further education or experience in engineering or other technical related field
  • Knowledge in other engineering or design disciplines, especially mechatronics
  • Licensed as a PE
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
