We didn’t create 219 Design to be just another Silicon Valley engineering firm. 219 was started by engineers, for engineers. For almost 20 years, we’ve been helping companies invent products that change the world. Our clients are innovators in the fields of medical devices, surgical robotics, consumer products, merchandising, transportation, and more. We are a team of curious and clever problem solvers. 219ers have improved patient outcomes, changed the way we enjoy sports, and revolutionized data transfer – just to name a few. Our spacious headquarters is in Mountain View, CA – the heart of Silicon Valley and a 10 minute walk from Caltrain. We also have offices in Raleigh’s Research Triangle and in San Francisco’s SOMA District.

Our Evolving Workplace

We believe that iteration is key to developing great products AND to forming a great workplace. We regularly try new things in the office, keeping what works and letting go of what doesn’t. Since becoming bicoastal in 2011, we’ve strived to make “remote work” feel less distant. We help the team connect and engage with each other through weekly discussion groups, company-wide touch points, and optional trips and game nights. Most 219ers are currently in a “hybrid” work mode and spend some time in the office with teammates, some time at home, and even occasionally take advantage of our short term “work-from-wherever” policy. This is working really well for us right now but, as always, we will continue to evolve as needed.
